Syria: Army Makes More Gains in Continued anti-Terrorism Operations

The Syrian army units are pressing ahead with operations on Thursday, advancing further in Homs and killed increasing numbers of terrorists, including several terrorist groups’ leaders.

Army units in Deir Ezzor province targeted terrorist groups in the neighborhoods of al-Rushdiyeh, al-Jbeileh, al-Orfi and Nazlet al-Rdeisat in the city, leaving numbers of their members dead and wounded.

Terrorists of Arab nationalities were identified among the dead, including Haroun al-Shabari from Yemen and Milad al-Oweid from Palestine.

The killed terrorists also included Yasser Youssef al-Hammoud, Ahmad Saleh Shehada, Ayman al-Harbi, Ahmad Jawish and Ammar Shlash.

In the countryside, a unit of the armed forces targeted a terrorist group in Hatleh village, killing most of its members.

A leader of Jabhat al-Nusra, named Firas al-Hanadeh, was identified among the dead.

Another army unit razed a gathering for terrorists in al-Mrei’iyeh village, killing and injuring many of them, including Ahmad Matar and Azo al-Jalwi.

Army units continued advancing in the neighborhoods of the old city of Homs to rid the city of the terrorists.

A military source told SANA that the army units regained control over several buildings in the neighborhoods of Bab Hud, al-Hamidiyeh, al-Kosour, Joret al-Shiyyah and al-Karabis.

The army also destroyed a den for the leaders of the armed terrorist groups with all the terrorists inside it and a weapons' warehouse.

Guard members of a gas factory in Jbab Hamad site in eastern Homs repelled an attack by an armed terrorist group, killing more than 20 terrorists, according to a source in the province.

SANA reporter quoted the source as saying that the guards seized an amount of weapons and ammunition and two cars that were with the terrorists.

In another context, 12 explosive devices weighing 30-40 kg, which had been planted by terrorists in a farm in al-Abbassiyeh area near Palmyra-Damascus highway, were dismantled.

A tunnel which was dug and used by terrorists as a center for launching their operations in al-Sukkari area, was destroyed by members of an army unit, with all the terrorists inside getting killed.

Army units and national defense forces were engaged in fierce clashes with armed terrorist groups in al-Ramouseh area in Aleppo, at the end of which they were able to drive away the groups’ members at various axes after inflicting heavy losses upon them so as to pave the way to secure the highway.

An army unit, in cooperation with the national defense forces, foiled an attempt by armed terrorist groups to infiltrate Hanano Barracks by blowing up three tunnels the terrorists had earlier dug in the surrounding of the barracks. Large numbers of terrorists were killed.

Another army unit destroyed vehicles for armed terrorist groups in Idleb-Aleppo highway, leaving all of the terrorists inside dead and wounded.

An army unit targeted terrorists’ gatherings at the Technical Services Building in al-Lairamoun area, killing large numbers of them.

Numbers of terrorists were killed and others were wounded in various neighborhoods in Aleppo city, including al-Lairamoun, al-Sheikh S’eed, al-Ameriyeh, al-Rashdin, Beidin and al-Sakhour, according to a military source.

SANA reporter quoted the source as saying that the terrorists’ weapons and ammunition were destroyed.

Army units also killed and wounded other terrorists in the villages and towns of Orum, al-Mansoura, Khan al-Assal, Khan Touman, al-Atareb, al-Shweihneh, Qubtan al-Jabal, Qaddareh, Jamet al-Khalij, al-Ramouseh, Kweires, Jadideh, Erbid, Hamimeh and the Industrial Area in the countryside of Aleppo. A number of heavy machine guns mounted on cars were destroyed.

Meanwhile, army units in the northern countryside of Lattakia killed leader of Jabhat al-Nusra in Idleb among many other terrorists in the villages and towns of al-Zweik, Ein al-Dubleh, Jabal al-Louz, Khan al-Jouz, Burj al-Qasab, al-Frulluk and Dabseh compound and the surrounding of al-Nab’een police station and Syriatel communications tower.

Leaders of the so-called ‘Ahfad Aaesha Battalions’ and ‘Ahl al-Rebat’ were identified among the dead.

The terrorists’ vehicles which were equipped with heavy machine guns were destroyed in the operations.

In Idleb, many terrorists were killed and many others were injured in Kafrblata and Sarmin towns and in the surrounding of the Central Prison in the countryside of Idleb.

A military source told SANA that the army units left a number of terrorists killed and wounded in the towns and villages al-Sheikh Maskeen, Tseel, al-Naimeh and al-Msavfrah in Daraa countryside.

The terrorists criminal tools were also destroyed.
